Workshop dedicated to Women in Mathematics Day
12 May 2026
Universiteit Gent, Campus Sterre, Building S8, Lecture room 1.2 (first floor)
Dedicated to the International day of women in Mathematics and the birthday of Maryam Mirzakhani
The speakers are:
15:00–15:30
Smiljana Jakšić (University of Belgrade, Serbia)
On Continuity Properties for a Family of Schrödinger-Type Equations
15:30–16:00
Nurbol Koshkarbayev (Al-Farabi Kazakh National University)
Analysis and Numerical Simulation of the Kawahara Equation with a Moving Boundary
This little workshop continues the sequence of events organised by the Ghent Analysis & PDE Center in support of Women in Mathematics. See, for example, the workshop “Women in Mathematics” in 2024, and the exhibition “Women in Mathematics from around the world” through the pictures of the photographer Noel Matoff, and the corresponding lecture by Prof Sylvie Paycha (Potsdam University), that took place during our Summer School “Modern Problems in PDEs and applications” in September 2023.
