A member of our Analysis & PDE centre, Hong-Wei Zhang, was presented “The Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad” which is given by the Chinese government to graduate students studying abroad who are not funded by the China Scholarship Council (CSC). Recipients are chosen worldwide each year for their outstanding accomplishments in academia. Only 500 are awarded annually among all Chinese overseas graduate students in all disciplines. Because of this highly competitive selection, this prestigious award is considered the highest award the Chinese government gives to overseas graduate students.

The prize comes with a certificate and 6000 USD award.
